Dallas Cowboys Preseason Preview

Tony Romo: It will be interesting to see how much time Tony Romo plays this preseason. He should come in and look pretty sharp in the time he plays.

Dak Prescott: I look to see the development of Dam Prescott’s pocket presence. In my opinion, Dak is better right now than Kellen Moore, or any other backup quarterback Dallas would consider signing or trading for.

Jameill Showers: Jameill Showers looked pretty good last preseason, he even made contributions on special teams as a gunner. It was exciting that he made the practice squad last season, and there a possibility he makes the team as the number three this season.

Ezekiel Elliott: Ezekiel Elliott is currently considered “day to day” but once he does enter the preseason he will come out and get work in the run and pass game. Zeke will showcase just a fraction of his great repertoire.

Alfred Morris: Until Elliott comes back, Alfred Morris will be the featured back in the preseason for the Dallas Cowboys. He looks to be in 2012/2013 form, rather that 2015 form.

Rod Smith: Rod Smith looks to be the well deserving favorite to win the job as the starting fullback over Keith Smith.

Dez Bryant: Dez Bryant will come in a bit this preseason to contribute to show how he has bounced back from his injuries in 2015.

Brice Butler: Brice Butler should come out and show that he can play as a starting receiver or even the first receiver off the bench in this league.

Andy Jones: Andy Jones looked really good in OTAs and mini camp and continued to look well in training camp. He is likely to earn a roster spot this season. He good exit the preseason as one of the NFL’s leaders among receiving stats due to the high volume of work he will receive.

Chris Brown: Chris Brown has also looked good this offseason. He came in being ranked the number one Undrafted free agent for the Dallas Cowboys, and he’s showed that the rating was pretty accurate. He should play very well along with Andy Jones.

Gavin Escobar: This is a crucial preseason for Gavin Escobar. He needs to show that he can eventually be a starting tight end in this league, or he might not be around much longer. I think he will play pretty well.

Rico Gathers: It will be very exciting to see Rico Gathers in live action. He should receive a good deal of work this preseason and I think he will play well.

Geoff Swaim: Geoff Swaim will receive a good deal of work this preseason, he looks to be again, a practice squad candidate.

Chaz Green: It will be interesting to note the development of Chaz Green. He looks to have improved over the offseason, so I think he will showcase that he can be the first or second linemen off the bench.

Demarcus Lawrence: Demarcus Lawrence has been very apologetic for what he has done. I believe in the time that he gets, he will show that he is a dominant force in this league.

David Irving: David Irving will showcase that he can be a productive starting defensive end in this league. He will get some solid action.

Charles Tapper: Charles Tapper is going to get a great deal over work to show that he was worth a fourth round draft pick this year, and he will.

Benson Mayowa/Jack Crawford: It will be interesting to note where exactly these players line up this preseason. Benson Mayowa can play DE and OLB, Jack Crawford can play DT and DE.

Ryan Russell: Ryan Russell should continue his improvement from this offseason and play pretty good this preseason to show that he can be a defensive linemen in this league.

Anthony Hitchens: Anthony Hitchens will get a great deal of time in not only this preseason, but this season as well. This preseason, he will show that he can be a tackling machine in this league.

Damien Wilson/Kyle Wilber/Mark Nzeocha: It will be interesting to see how much Damien Wilson, Kyle Wilber, and Mark Nzeocha have improved this preseason.

Derek Akunne: It will be interesting to see how much time Derek Akunne will get this preseason.

Orlando Scandrick: Orlando Scandrick will come back this preseason and show that he is one of the best cornerbacks in the league.

Byron Jones: Byron Jones will continue to showcase how versatile and great he is as a player.

Morris Claiborne: Morris Claiborne needs to get off to a great start in the preseason this year, and I think he will.

Anthony Brown: Anthony Brown will continue his great offseason and show that he can be a starting cornerback in this league.

Kevin Frazier: Kevin Frazier will show that he can be a great special teams player from the start.

Lucky Whitehead: Lucky Whitehead will continue to be a great returner, and that will be the case in this preseason.
