Last week against the Bengals, Dak Prescott set a rookie record of passes thrown without an interception (135). That total is currently at 155 and with 7 more completions, he will break Tom Brady’s record of passes thrown to begin a career without an interception, at 162. This week against the Packers could very well be his last as a starter in 2016, if not week 8 against the Eagles will. The Packer’s pass defense has struggled, ranking 24th in the NFL in yards allowed per. game.
This man has been running with a purpose continuing to show how impactful he is, leading the NFL in rushing yards at 546 yards. It’s important to note that he has not been used in the passing game to the level he is being capable of being used. Thus, this week is a perfect week to start that trend against a team allowing only 2.0 yards a carry (1.0 yard better than the NFL’s second in that category, NY Jets, 3.0 yards per. carry). They have also only allowed 42.8 yards per. game which is 25.6 yards less than second, NY Jets. However, besides Adrian Peterson, they have not faced a very good running back. That will change Sunday when they face Elliott. So, look for him to be more involved in the pass game, but still get 18+ carries.
DCFOOTBALLDAILY Week 5 Player of the Week (along with Zeke), shut it down last week against AJ Green. He and Brandon Carr are most likely going to be playing against Jordy Nelson or Davante Adams this week, with Anthony Brown mostly playing on Randall Cobb. It will be exciting to see how Mo Claiborne plays against one of the best wide outs in NFL history, in Nelson. Also, interesting to see how Brown plays against Cobb who just tore up the Giants in every way possible.
Lawrence was very impactful last week, having at least 2 or 3 quarterback pressures, 2 of them leading to sacks.
I have closely monitored Dez’s status since he went down and this is the week I have felt he would be back. However, it’s looking kind of shaky at this point considering not much positive news. He participated in practiced a looked to be moving well, however, he was not a full participant. I am still leaning towards him playing, but not by much at all. I would say it’s even 55%, 45%.
Sunday Update: Dez actually does not hold the decision to play this week, so A decision that makes sense, he is inactive
