Featured Dallas Cowboy of the Month (December)

December: J.J. Wilcox

J.J. Wilcox is a fourth year man out of Georgia Southern college. In the previous three years, he was very serviceable, but not great. This year Wilcox has been great. If you look at his statistics you might not notice a difference at all, but he has been phenomenal in the run game.

Wilcox has without question been the hardest hitting player in the NFL this season, laying out everybody that has come in his path. He has primarily played in run packages so his pass protection is a question mark. However, he is very athletic.

In a contract year for Wilcox as well as fellow Cowboy’s safety Barry Church and defensive backs Morris Claiborne and Brandon Carr, it will be interesting to see what they do.

Fun Fact: J.J. Wilcox is widely known as the best baseball player on the Dallas Cowboys roster, next to the GOAT, Jason Witten of course. Tony Romo was viewed as the best basketball player for a very long time, even beating the MVP of the 2015 NCAA National Championship, Quinn Cook, in a game of 1v1 and HORSE.
