February: Jason Witten
Jason Witten is one of the greatest right ends of all-time. He ranks second all-time in career receptions and receiving yards by an NFL tight end.
He has the most catches in Dallas Cowboys history and this season he ended the year 16 yards shy to the most receiving yards in Cowboys history. He would have achieved it if he played more than just a few plays in week 17. Next year he will pass Michael Irvin for most receiving yards, as Dez Bryant passed Irvin for second-most receiving touchdowns in week 16. Bob Hayes holds the record, Dez will also pass that next year. Therefore, be prepared for some Cowboys records to drop early next season.
This season he accomplished an amazing achievement. He passed Terrell Owens for 7th in career catches by an NFL player. Witten in unquestionably a first ballet Hall of Famer.
Against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 8, Witten caught the game winning touchdown in overtime, making him the first player in franchise history to score in 14 seasons.
He scored his surprisingly, first career postseason touchdown for the Cowboys this season.
When you look at Jason Witten, a guy from Tennessee who came into college as a defensive end has elevated himself to one of the best football players to ever live. He has accomplished everything he could have ever wanted, except win a Super Bowl. I believe J-Witt will accomplish that next season.
