John Lynch; former NFL safety, Super Bowl champion, and Fox broadcaster is looking for his next accomplishment. Being a General Manager is one of the most vital parts of building up a football team. If your General Manager position is weak, then your whole football team is in a horrible position. John Lynch is in his rookie year of being a general manager for the San Francisco 49ers. His first NFL draft didn’t look like it was his first rodeo.
In the 2017 NFL draft, Lynch made veteran decisions. Selecting solid players from beginning to end. For instance, former Stanford standout Soloman Thomas(3rd overall) and former Alabama Linebacker Rueben Foster(31st overall). Those are very quality picks for a team that definitely needed it. Especially towards the third round where they selected C.J Beathard, former quarterback from Iowa. Since the 49er’s let Colin Kaepernick walk, picking up Beathard will pay dividends for the organization. Mike Shanahan has compared Beathard to Kirk Cousins, which is ironic because the 49ers wanted Cousins desperately throughout the offseason.
In conclusion, John Lynch has done a stellar job with his first NFL draft. Lynch kept his composure and knew all eyes were on him to succeed and he did just that. Now, everybody is in “wait and see” mode to see if John Lynch can rebuild the San Francisco 49ers from the ground up. Only time will tell if John Lynch has prevailed with his selections and trades. Don’t look now, but the San Francisco 49ers are on the move.
